Developer and local businessman Joe Mihalovic says his project will connect the riverbanks of Maniways creek to the city.
Mihmovic has built a $250,000 house that will house a community garden and a bar with seating for 20 people.
He says the house will have a community meeting space, a meeting area for business, and a dining room for a cocktail reception.
The community meeting room will have four small tables, each serving as a table for a small group of friends or family.
Miamovic says the community garden will have 10 tables and four plants.
He plans to create a restaurant, community lounge, and community meeting and community gathering area.
He said the community gathering space will have five tables and two chairs.
Muhalovic hopes to raise $100,000 to build the project, which will be done in stages, by the end of 2019.
He has a partner in development who has already invested in the project and has also received funds from the City of Manifold and the City Water Board.
He hopes to finish the project by December 2021.
The project was the subject of an article published in The Washington Post.
It also appears in the May/June 2017 issue of The Washington Times.
